Make sure you know the baggage rules, don’t bring more than you need, and if you get a rental car, know that people target them for break-ins. Never leave anything in your car. Going in for a snack? Take your bags. Basically, drive to your hotel, take the bags out immediately and put them in your room, and try to leave nothing in the car ever. It’s not always this bad, but they spot rentals from a mile away. Be smart, be safe.
PeterFlew with Air CanadaSept 2024
Etihad is a market leader in every category. It’s too bad they generally don’t fly out of Canada (except for SE Asia/ME/Asia. I’d take them in a second over AC. Took one in a trip to Male and was blown away. AC seems like a discount carrier compared to them. And Etihad was always on time! On the last 20 segments I have taken with AC, less than 20% were on time (or not cancelled outright).
ArijitFlew with IndiGoSept 2024
If using Indigo, try to carry less cabin luggage or else try boarding ahead of your Zone call - else you may struggle to find space. Don't rely on flight food at Indigo. Visata is much better. As of now, Indigo is lesser evil - till Vistara and Air India get together and hopefully do some magic.
KathyFlew with Cathay PacificSept 2024
There is no section by section boarding, except for people needing extra time, or first class. So I advise you to line up right away. It's a bit confusing at first, but just line up when they start boarding, no matter what your seat is, or you'll be last in line!
PaulFlew with Air CanadaSept 2024
Air Canada from Montreal was good. But next trip we will fly TAP to Lisbon because TAP disembarked into the terminal whereas AC parked away and passengers had to bus to the airport. This routing added an extra 45-60 minutes to clearing the airport in LIS
DanaFlew with Alaska AirlinesSept 2024
That was my first time flying Milwaukee to Seattle & vice versa. I think we choose a good airline. Seattle’s traffic & airport is busier than Milwaukee so get there at least 2 hours early. Download & keep an eye on the Alaska airline app for flight info updates.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesSept 2024
I will not fly to ICN and transfer to Hawaiian again. Both Asiana and KAL are good flights to ICN. And their lounges are both good. But if flying onward, stay with Asiana or KAL connections. ICN doesn’t do terminal connections well.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSept 2024
Make sure you arrive early enough for boarding. I had a 1 hr layover from Charleston that that was just enough time to get off the plane and walk over to the international side before they started boarding.
KevinFlew with Cebu PacificSept 2024
Bring charging cord as the have ports on the plane. You have to buy water, so get it in the airport, as 3 bottles is the same price as 1 warm bottle on the plane.
DavianFlew with SouthwestSept 2024
Don't rent a car or Uber. Add Clipper Card to your digital phone wallet and use it to take the Bart! It was super easy and very clean with spectacular views along the way
SteliosFlew with Sky ExpressSept 2024
Aegean airlines is still the best experience in Greece, one of the best in Europe. Buses from the airport are cheaper than metro. Recharge your ticket in the machines and help be more ecological
DONALDFlew with SouthwestSept 2024
None for this leg. But it seems the earlier the better for seating. The flight is usually not filled to capacity, so you can usually get an aisle or window seat fairly easy.
Verified travelerFlew with KLMSept 2024
Drink enough water before the flight and, if possible, carry a sachet with electrolytes to counteract the effect of the dry environment of the plane and reduce the effect of jetlag.
TrygveFlew with Cathay PacificSept 2024
For me it’s all about sleep. Try to sleep as much as possible. Bring a good book and don’t eat too much as it is a very long flight
MarkFlew with United AirlinesSept 2024
Unless you are “held hostage” by mileage plus program. Don’t take this flight if it’s an old short haul aircraft. Delta has more and more comfortable flights to Atlanta
Verified travelerFlew with NorwegianSept 2024
The service on the flight is amazing, and also the team responsible to see you on board are very helpful. Reach there in time because everything is timely.
TamaraFlew with Spirit AirlinesSept 2024
Choose airlines close to your home. Especially for uber purposes. Every airline that allows a carryon is ggreat. Complimentary snacks are a plus and add competent courteous staff.
AlanFlew with Alaska AirlinesSept 2024
From Portland specifically- fly Alaska. It’s just easier. Other airlines are fine, but when I’m going to and from Portland, I almost exclusively fly Alaska.
MatthewFlew with LATAM AirlinesSept 2024
Had to go to 2 security checks for connecting flights and could not take water/soda purchased in terminal onto the flight.... so plan accordingly
Rita AnnFlew with Aer LingusSept 2024
The gate is a long walk so go through security earlier rather than later. Loads of great shops and restaurants both land and air side.
OdieFlew with Air CanadaSept 2024
Make sure you eat at the airport before boarding… if you have time walk around the airport bc there’s lots of places to eat.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSept 2024
We chose Alaska as they flew non stop from Seattle to Cincinnati and back to Seattle. A bonus not to stop in Chicago.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSept 2024
I have only flown Air Canada and British Airways, and while both are excellent, I have to give the edge to British Airways.
DanielFlew with Gulf AirSept 2024
Gulf Air has a good checked baggage policy (2 x 23 kgs). The carry-on allowance at 6 kgs is not bad too.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaSept 2024
Get there with plenty of time! You can’t afford to be late but you can always afford to be “late for being early”!
AlainFlew with Flair AirlinesSept 2024

Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaSept 2024
Don’t stress at the check in. Easy and convenient, no lines , no confusion with gate. Small and very easy airport to navigate
DesFlew with ZIPAIRSept 2024
Greay value for money! Buy food at the airport and take it onboard with you - its not an issue at all.
DevikaFlew with Etihad AirwaysSept 2024
I wish I had known how much walking I had to do to the transfer terminal from landing to transfer gate.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaSept 2024
Get deeper into the airport. There are cheaper/good food and more seating once you get away from the entrance.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSept 2024
Gone are the days of only needing to arrive 2 hours before your flight. My advice give yourself 3+ hours.
danielFlew with Singapore AirlinesSept 2024
They have a large library of movies and shows don't really need to bring anything for the long flight
BessieFlew with ANASept 2024
ANA and JAL are always better. I try to take the first flight in the middle of the week.
ScottFlew with DeltaSept 2024
If you can manage it, take the first flight of the day; chances are later flights will be delayed.

There is a train but Rocky Mountaineer is expensive. There’s also E-bus but we would have had to stay overnight. Westjet is much cheaper but flights are through Calgary taking over 4 hours to make it to Kamloops instead of the 50 minute flight with AC.
DanielFlew with Gulf AirSept 2024
If you’re seated in the aisle, be prepared to get up when your neighbour needs to use the restroom or stretch their legs. If this happens during meal service, navigating around the cramped economy section in the narrow-body A321 can be a chore.

Have plenty of patience for the casual travelers! They are oblivious of rules and etiquettes that slows down the process for everyone. Case in point, a guy held up the line trying to place both his personal item (should be UNDER the seat in front of you) and his carry on case horizontally. Obviously not aware of the big poster right in front of his displaying the proper way of placing his case on it's side. Slowed the whole line of people behind him. Also be mindful the agents in Ontario airport (or any smaller airports) might not be the most knowledgeable on the rules and regulations of air travel, luggage specification allowances etc. Stay patient!! Also the seats do not recline that well anymore on AA flights. So if you have back problems, be sure to bring some back supports.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSept 2024
The "pay to pick your seat" policy stinks. It's even worse than "pay to pick a seat you'd want to sit in" that airlines have been doing for a while. There is no cohesive policy for how one *gets* a seat assignment- at LAX my boarding pass had a seat assignment; in Portland, the ticketing agent told me the gate agent "had" to do it, but the gate agent said it had been assigned the whole time even though my boarding pass had a blank space where the seat assignment should have been.
DinaFlew with LATAM AirlinesSept 2024
Madrid airport is one of the most difficult airports I have ever visited. An absolute nightmare for new travelers to this airport. Please give assistance to the people connecting flights and remember that this T4 and T4S is confusing and there is only ONE information desk hidden among the food court and no one to ask. Corridors are empty and the people who are checking the lines don’t give any other assistance but supervision.
Verified travelerFlew with Singapore AirlinesSept 2024
I wish I'd known how little space there is now on this flight and how much the quality of the food has decreased in the last year. For breakfast the staff moved through the cabin handing out a boxed potato and mushroom patty which most people handed back
AvaFlew with WestJetSept 2024
If you think you’ll be hungry, bring food on board or eat before boarding. Don’t pay extra for a premium seat unless you want to sit toward the front of the plane. The seats are not different from one section to another. The bathroom smelled and was tight.
PeterFlew with Air CanadaSept 2024
Don’t expect to ever be on time to your destination. The Montreal-Toronto-Montreal route is AIr Canada’s highest volume route and they are almost never on time. In my experience (20 flight segments in the last 12 months) less than 20% have been on time.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaSept 2024
Air Transat and Lufthansa seem to have the best onboard experience. Air Canada was good, too. Azores Airlines and Sunwing are to be avoided at all costs. The former lost half the plane's luggage and the latter couldn't be on time to save its life.
Verified travelerFlew with Scandinavian AirlinesSept 2024
Check with the airline and validate that all of the advertised benefits are indeed available. Paying higher price for the Economy Plus tickets may not be worth it for you as a number of advertised benefits are not available, definitely not in Boston

Took over an hour from city center to Ezeiza International Airport (Buenos Aires) during rush hour. Plan accordingly. Latam required paper boarding passes. so make extra time to check in and get them at the desk or kiosk.

I wish I had known that the air canada flight I was taking was so small inside that you can barely fit your carryon bag down the aisle. Also that there are some planes who's seats don't recline.

Fantastic staff and plane Only issue was flying out from terminal 2 at Perth nothing was open to get food or drink, we were there 3 hours early with 2 kids and not prepared to not be able to purchase food or drinks. Having self check in and bag drop would be wonderful too, as we had to wait for staff to arrive to check in despite checking in online the day before . Nothing major but would have made a great trip fantastic!

Enjoyed the comfort of the seats, slight delay to departure time but prompt takeoff and landing.

It asks about entertainment tho it’s not applicable. 10/10 for Rex 👌🏻

Not sure how to answer on the entertainment as there wasn’t any.. Comfort, I wasn’t comfortable as I was on the window side and a morbidly obese man sat in the middle and eased out into my space. I had sciatica so I wasn’t able to move much to get comfortable. Food wise I have a wheat allergy and asked if there was a gluten free option and was given a Byron bay cookie which was lovely tho it wasn’t wheat free. Not to worry. I wasn’t expecting there to be any appropriate snacks for me anyhow. The staff were very generous with the snacks and their concern for the passengers. The staff were amazing tho. Truly amazing ! One of the staff must have noticed my discomfort and helped me out to stand in the back of the plane to stretch which I really appreciated. I would fly with REX again without hesitation. Thank you very much. It was my first flight with you and I look forward to my return flight home on Tuesday. Best wishes to your company 👌🏻

All good, was a one hour flight so no food or entertainment which was expected

Rex is an underrated airline. Its my first time flying them and they were fantastic. the only things that annoyed me about my flight were things other passengers did so it was nothing i or REX could change

Really enjoyed flying with Rex the boarding and booking baggage on was easier than most. I will beat using Rex next time.

On time and a quick flight and staff vert good

It’s a very long flight and there are so many people on board. Perhaps a warm washcloth now and then to freshen up

Don't irreparably damage my luggage, don't stand around talking in the kitchen area of the plane when a passenger is waiting to speak to you, don't run out of a meal selection so have me end up eating bread for dinner. Lastly, regarding the code-share flight from DFW to JFK....STOP PARTNERING WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES - THEY ARE THE WORST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD! The delay, followed by another delay, followed by disorganized boarding, followed by stale snacks fit for a rodent, followed by a pilot who literally slammed the plane onto the runway when landing causing quite some concern among the passengers.

The crew was very helpful to my family, especially when my daughter became sick during the flight. Will fly with them again.

Too many passengers are bringing on too many large items as part of carry on baggage where it should be checked in. This is not the fault of Qantas but the stupid mindset passengers have now about trying to bring anything and everything on as carry on luggage where it should be checked in.

Better than expected, normally I don't use this airline because they are too expensive for me, but if you can afford it, good on you, you won't regret it. Regards.

The flight was delayed over 2 hours. We had to wait on the plane and the air conditioning was turned off. The food was average and the cutlery was wooden!

Perfect. The flight was on time and the crew were very friendly and helpful.

Plane a little late departing, but not an issue. The pilots humour when he said “I will try to make up some time…. I know a few short cuts to Adelaide” made the passengers chuckle. This is what makes Qantas “Australian”.

I have never had a problem with flying Qantas, so this flight was the same as any other.

After British Airways cancelled my London to Sydney and Virgin Australia refused to refund, there was no ways I would try Virgin Australia again, so it was Qantas - what a good flight experience. So much easier to get off an international flight and get a local flight without having to add extra amounts for baggage

The level of incompetence of this airline is truly astounding.

I'll never transit from international through Sydney with Virgin until they improve the domestic transfer system. It's ridiculous that you have to take oversize baggage to the transfer desk to get it activated then struggle onto the shuttle bus (carrying a 25kg, 2m long ski bag and carry-on - along with about 6 others in the same situation) then negotiate the terminal and queue to put it onto the oversize receival bag drop.

For a red eye flight it is pretty uncomfortable. They provide nothing in the way of pillows, etc.

2 hrs + delay! Times kept changing, Onboard menu was half depleted, Entertainment wifi was N/A Overall very frustrating flight and I never slate Virgin.

Virgin Australia passed this flight onto Alliance, so my rating and comments are based on my experience with crew, aircraft and available options. Alliance only offers drinks which consisted of tea, coffee and water, free of charge. There was no on board entertainment. The aircraft seating although narrow accommodated my 6 foot 2 body with little discomfort.

When the flight is full out would be good to allow the use of the front toilet as well as the rear. Otherwise it was an uneventful flight.

When I made the booking I was not aware I had to book our checked baggage separately. As we had no checked luggage booking, I had to pay A$120 per bag (total 2 bags) so you can imagine I was not pleased. I am an experienced traveller so something needs to be done to improve the booking app,

Toasties not available (only GF option). Hot drinks not able to be served No usb charging port

Flight departed in time and arrived on time, no issues at all.

Boarding took place at the front and back. Weight of luggage was unclear and cost an arm and a leg.

The flight was over an hour late due to staff shortages and due to it being the last evening flight, I got back to Sydney very late

This was the most horrific experience we have ever had. I would advise people to steer clear of this airline at all costs.

Online checkin was a nightmare. They kept popping me into Chinese language site which I can't understand.

a constant reminder that you need to work harder so you can avoid this airline

Note that food has to be purchased in flight. No free food. And no entertainment in flight. So I’ve treated these two items as okay which, in this case, means neutral/not applicable.

My Dad needed assistance to board the plane. The Jetstar staff were excellent with him and made the experience a lot easier😁

No food taken so can't rate also no entertainment so can't rate.

Would be better if can provide small free snacks on a long flight

Boarding was easy and unstressful, though the early "final call" was a bit off-putting. The crew were pleasant, and the seats were comfortable. The prices for food and drink were reasonable, apart from tea and coffee, where simple percolated coffee was charged at espresso prices. Deboarding was OK, though some Jetstar passengers appear to have a bad habit of pushing forward from their assigned rows, making it more difficult to get out for passengers that have paid a premium to sit up-front. Jetstar might want to look to address this to stop it from spreading.

I was allocated an exit row seat and was told to move so it could be given away to someone who had purchased two extra legroom seats and one regular seat but wanted the three to sit together. I was also charged for entertainment after booking but before checking in, and the ground crew couldn't do anything about refunding it. When the whole plane was given access to the entertainment as an apology for the flight being four hours late, I was told they couldn't do anything about that either, so I was charged for something I didn't want even though it would have been free anyway
