I thought that the car could have been cleaner. When I lowered the stow and go seats there were crumbs and other debris, nothing large but it should have been cleaned better on the interior.

It was very spacious. My driver was very friendly and funny 🤣😁. There was a bathroom in the trunk. And I needed (of course)to pee so you know where I left a wet spot(the trunk). The drivers around us were very friendly 😸, probably cuz I put a "baby 🍼 on board" sticker on the car. And my dog 🐶 absolutely loved 😍 the drive. He was barking like crazy.

No one answers the phones at Budget. The same voice menu prompts all take you to lost and found. Upon finally getting someone to confirm that Budget staff will be at the airport despite a late arriving flight, security told us they left 15 mins before I walked in (i.e. after the flight had actually landed). Really frustrated with Budget and will not rent from them again.

I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

Predatory practices around car damage, and didn't accept the 3rd party insurance coverage that I had purchased. At the point of pickup I then needed to provide additional coverage through my credit card. Poor communication and customer service throughout.

All they want is to not return your deposit amount. They inspect the car and find out peculiar issues with it. There is no inspection at the start. And if there is even a smalll scratch they would replace the whole part. What they want is not to return your deposit money.

Pros:

Staff were EXCEPTIONAL - extremely helpful, gave us all kinds of useful information, really great attitudes and I got lost in trying to find the drop off and was going to miss my flight so one of the staff gave me a ride to the terminal and I was able to catch my flight. I couldn't be more grateful!

Cons:

GPS does not pick up car rental village... have BIG SIGN out on the roadway showing car rental return like they do in the USA it's so easy here. The GPS took me to an Uber waiting parking area and not one of the signs on the roundabout said CAR RENTAL VILLAGE.

Cons:

They didn’t have any mid-size suvs—the class we had reserved. Tried to rent us large 10 passenger van instead, which was unacceptable. Eventually manager became involved and we settled on Ford Galaxy which they told us was our only other option without paying much more.

Dropoff procedure at Manchester Airport was slow (10 minutes to get car checked in, due to understaffing) and not terribly friendly.

I had prepaid my booking with Europcar via Kayak. Upon arrival at the rental counter at 7:00AM, the person told me I couldn't rent a car because my current driver's license had only been issued on 8/17/23 and was less than 12 months old. He said that without a copy of my prior license, which of course I didn't have, he couldn't release the vehicle and would therefore cancel the reservation. When I said I'd already paid for the reservation, he said he couldn't help me on the refund, and that I'd have to deal with Kayak. When I told him I rent a vehicle on average once a week, all over the world, and have never had this problem; and also told him I'd been driving for almost 50 years, he said it didn't matter. He said this was Europcar's policy. So, I walked to the next counter (Enterprise) and hired another rental car. It was a terrible experience. I will never rent from Europcar again. Please help me obtain my refund. You should see in the system that Europcar canceled the reservation. Thank you.

This is one of the worst car rental experiences I’ve had. Kayak is terrible to get to. In spite of all the push ads I’ve received from them they have not responded and customer service telephone numbers give out wrong information and Europcar refuses to attend to my rental agreement changes stating that I’ve booked a 3rd party such as Kayak. So you guys do not add value. You just make life more difficult for car renters

We’ve booked an SUV WV Tuareg, as we were 5 people. Upon arrival we were given a Capra which was pretty small and was not comfortable at all for the passengers on the back. On arrival, we were charged 2x one way charges as we were to return the car in a different city (this was not mentioned when we were making the reservation). After we picked up the car, we received an email that the return office wasn’t working Sundays (the day we were supposed to return the car) and we were to pay additional £60 for an out of hours return. This was not mentioned neither during the reservation process, nor during pickup by the person at the Europcar desk. Overall we paid a lot of money, most of all surcharges, for a very uncomfortable drive.

Cons:

I was extremely frustrated to find I *had* to purchase additional theft insurance, even though I have full coverage through my credit card. This added significantly to the daily cost of the rental in ways I had not planned on. It would be one thing if this had been communicated transparently at the point of booking, but to find this out at the point of pick up was extremely frustrating. I will be more discerning in future, and will not be choosing Europcar.

Did not get a final bill at the return -- got a copy of damage report emailed (no damage, everything in order, fuel full, etc. ), but did not get a bill. I rent a lot for business and family trips and expect to immediatly get a final bill for the rental on return -- very unsatisfactory. Will I get a surprise? I don't know?

Pros:

Although there was a slight mix up about the pick up location for the car. The manager was able to get me the car at anothe location and they transported me for free to this location to pick up the car. The car itself was a fairly new car and I did not have any problems whatsoever driving the car. I will use this rental service again.

Pros:

The helpful staff were amazing.

Cons:

I booked a Mercedes or similar for $375 but when I got there to pick it up they only had a Volkswagen Golf available and wanted $988. I got a my credit card total refund.Ordered a taxi to a location away from the airport and got a Mercedes for $340 from Enterprise.
