The representative at the car rental desk gave us wrong information. She told us that the price we paid at the counter included the price of the rental car. However, when I later reviewed the bill, I discovered that the price we paid at the counter was for an insurance package only, and that we were ALSO charged separately for the rental. This doubled the price, making it a disastrous purchase. I feel I was cheated into something I did not agree to.

I picked the wrong time based on incorrect recollection of when we were supposed to land, but it was required to wait until that time (two hours later) to pick up my rental. There was no previous walk around and I discovered a couple of rock strikes after I drove out of the facility. Fortunately they were rather small and there was no charge for them, but I was worried about it. Otherwise, the car I ended up with (Dodge Durango), which was not the one I reserved (Toyota Corolla), was quite satisfactory and even got respectable mileage (over 25 mpg). So I was pleased. There was a little difference in the ride, however, as the Durango is built on a truck chassis and it is a bit stiffer than a sedan.

Pros:

Nothing. Kayak sucks. The rental agency does not hold any reservations made through Kayak so there is no guarantee you will get a car. I reserved a Jeep Wrangler. The only option available when we got their was a Toyota Corolla. Spent two weeks jammed into a vehicle that was too small for us.

Cons:

I’ll never use Budget or Kayak again. Go direct to the car rental company and prepay. It is the only way to guarantee they will have a car for you. Four other renters had the exact same experience while we were there fighting with the agent to get our rental so it wasn’t just us.

Pros:

The staff directed us to another car rental agency that was able to provide a car.

Cons:

When I reserve a car, I expect that to mean that a car will be available. Apparently this is not well understood by Budget. They did not have a car available as promised, so I can only provide the lowest rating possible as feedback. I won't make the mistake of reserving with Budget in the future.

No very rude did not have the car we booked and gave us an 13 year old truck that my partner could not drive

Could have let us know they didn’t have a proper vehicle another so rude

They didn’t have a car for us after all even though we reserved one. We still paid for rental insurance that didn’t apply to our other rental.

Never received the car. No response when calling the rental agency from the airport at arrival. Tried to call on the next day, same result. The number provided is an Argentinian number which doesn't seem to work.
