I flew from San Francisco to Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines. The flight was operated by Alaska Airlines. Everything was fantastic. On the return flight from Honolulu to San Francisco, boarding was chaotic. They called each boarding group 1 through 6 very quickly, and everyone just ran and got in a very long line. There was no enforcement of boarding groups. Carry-on rules were not followed, and by the time I boarded the plane, there was barely any overhead space. I was boarding group 4. The crew was very professional, and the Hawaiian Airlines terminal in Honolulu was beautiful. I wish the rest of Honolulu Airport looked like the Hawaiian Airlines Terminal.

The ground crew were helpful, although it was unclear when the ETA would be so we had to wait for quite some time before being notified of when we will board. Our seats were also changed, and there were also duplicated seat numbers which cost an issue when we boarded. When this issue came up, the flight crew was even Snarky towards us that we did not check our seat number when it was already reassigned. There were no apologies from the flight crew at all, and it was very disappointing.
Check in Agent at SFO was indifferent, didn’t say hello , didn’t place priority Tag . We were Travelling First Class. No foodas it’s a short flight. Still you could have offered some thing better than Biscuits/ Popcorn. They announced that luggage will arrive in 20 minutes after we reach the gate. First Piece came 35 + Minutes after I walked out of the Plane
Rated meals and entertainment poor because we didn’t have any.
Great flight attendants, very friendly. The flight was on time and boarding was easy.
Paid additional for seat upgrade, but got same seat as no upgrade.
unfortunately had mechanical issues and had to switch planes. the obnoxious drunk guy in the furthest back seat could have been quieter and not dropped so many f bombs.
As expected cyst service up front was very good we needed assistance at the gates and they were very accommodating
Always delayed, inadequate availability of room for baggage but the crew were good & approachable.
I like non stop flights. It was overbooked and I would have taken the offer to give up m seat. Prior obligations prevented that option.
Boarding was efficient and there was enough overhead space. Passengers were cooperative about helping each other out. I think folks are happy about going to Hawaii.
The new 787 was awesome! So updated and with the times! Very upstate! Hawaiian is very service oriented and you feel the Aloha!
2nd flight of the day, delayed from the 1st flight being inoperable, and then this one was delayed 45 mins too.
The plane was nearly empty. My wife and I were seated behind a family with 3 sreaming kids. The parents refused to control their kids. When we tried to move to a quieter section of the near-empty plane, the flight attendant said please return to your seat. When we tried to explain, he stared at us coldly and simply repeated please return to your seat. When I asked if we could move after take-off he simply start and repeated please return to your seats. About as far from friendly and helpful as you can imagine.
Paid for extra leg room but seat was still uncomfortable! Not flying Hawaiian again.
Overall, the experience was good, but not special in any way. Fortunately, the flight was quite short. There was no one at the check-in kiosks to answer questions or help. The top of my armrest fell off when I grabbed it to stand up. One hates to see the plane falling apart!
Three issues: (1) There's NO outlet to charge the LT. (2) There was no alternative food for people who don't eat pork, so I didn't eat. (3) Got TM for flight delay to 15:15 instead of 14:35. so I took it easy. Next, I realized that the people are boarding on time, so I started running. Got there on time to realize that I am the last to board. Eventually, the flight left @ 15:15...
The flight attendants were outstanding. The best of any airline we have traveled. Very professional, efficient and attentive. The plane was cold. Actually freezing. Had to buy a blanket. I wish there had been access to wi-fi. The plane was clean and well kept. Bathrooms were outstanding. Thank you.
Would have liked better movie selection, but was great overall.
Extremely frustrated that I followed all directions and Hawaiian Airlines made me leave my surfboard at the airport and refused to let me check it.
