They treated me very bad they made me wait for 2 hours they were late then changed the book car then wanted to charge me 360 dollars not the amount that was on your application. It was bad I had a child with me and travel bags and the employee refused to use any other type of payment except my credit card which didn’t have that much money I want a compensation for my lost time lost money my agony long wait and missed work day. Unprofessional unacceptable.

upon return i learned that the location was closed after being looted during the george floyd protests in chicago. i totally understand that these were unique circumstances, but it would have been great to get a phone call so i didn't have to drive all the way to the south side and back. i feel like that's the only real reason for them to need to contact me, and they insisted on having two contact phone numbers. this would have been a good time to use them!

Pros:

I reserved my car from Chicago branch but I pick up my car from Schaumburg, IL location. This was GREAT! Unfortunately I reserved my car with $70 something but Schaumburg brach charged me more which was not acceptable but but I said OK because I was in need to pick up the car to commute to Chicago while there was a rumor on the news about the "state lockdown". Also I had a drop of location in Boston but when I called the Cambridge brach the gentlemen said "you can drop off my location". So this was great again. I didn't have to go to Boston branch for drop off.

Cons:

I really appreciate about the fast and easy pick up and drop off process and friendly associates. I rented the car for two days but I arrived to Chicago in one day.SO if I new that if I drop off the car in one day I'll be charged just for one day I would go and drop off the car earlier and save money while I already charged extra at the pick up location. You desperately need to fix your system's integration with Enterprise's system. I modified the booking a couple times on Kayak, but Enterprise didn't get alerted to the modification. The emails I received from Kayak had the wrong pick-up locations for Enterprise, but again, because Kayak didn't properly relay the pick-up location to Enterprise, I ended up going to the wrong location. This costed me $40 to take an Uber to the correct location as well as a 2-hour delay in pick-up, almost causing me to miss my drop-off time. I should get some credit for this hassle, which is totally Kayak's fault.

Cons:

The rental location's staff was rude and overcharged for insurance I already purchased without telling me. They also held $200 on my card which was not disclosed on this website. Their hours was 8am to 4pm and they where closed Monday (for labor day), didn't have a dropbox and excepted me to return the car the next day when I wouldn't be avialable (and I heard them give another person to option to return the car somewhere else without asking). I ended up returning the car to the airport location 5mins away after call Hertz directly. Also, the car smelled like someone had been smoking in it for days.

Well I am really pissed off to be honest. I ordered the car on the 6th of April 2023 and wanted it the morning after and just for that one day (7th of April). I get confirmation and everything looks good. I get to the place of pickup and the lady at the desk there tells me she has no cars and she's calling 15 other people in my same situation telling them she has no cars for them. Now that's a failing grade right there. The day is ruined for me and my family. I ask her to cancel my order because the only thing she could offer me is a car at 1 pm that day which is half the day gone and we had many things planned to see. So that wasn't going to work. I start looking for other cars to rent and I see there is plenty of cars from Hertz at ORD airport. So I ask the lady if I could just go there and pick up a car? She says she doesn't know because she had been busy calling these 15 people all morning. I would have thought that the best thing to do is to locate available cars and offer the people the option of getting their car at different locations if they don't want to wait until later that day. Anyway at that moment a guy walks passed her holding several car keys and she asks me to wait a second. She talks to him and gets a key from him. She tells me she got a car for me. So kudos to the lady for that. This saved the day for me and my family. However I wasn't told that Hertz would charge me $200 for what I can only assume is some security deposit. I hope I get that very soon. Then the day goes as planned and we had a great time. Except for the smell of hemp in the car, broken lighter and empty coffee cup. But hey...they probably didn't have time to clean it properly to give me the car....so I'm forgiving about that but the person who had it before me was definitely not following the no smoking vehicle rule. Now to the thing that is really pissing me off. Not the fact that I almost didn't get the car I was promised and had a confirmation email about. But the fact that every day after that I'm getting billed $100!!!! Now my guess is that they think I haven't returned the car. I most definitely did and parked it on the second floor because the first floor was full as I was told. I marked the key "2S" like asked if I had to park it on the second floor. And I put the keys in the key box like asked and shown. I checked the key box if the keys actually fell down out of the drawer, which they did. Now I have been charged $559 which is almost 10 times what I was supposed to pay for the car. My credit card is maxed out :( that is seriously annoying, embarrassing and a number of other negative things. So my experience now is this. I don't trust online booking of rental cars. I probably never will do that again.
